Bird Bags

Indulge in the unique narrative woven into the fabric of our latest textile series, ‘Textile Bird Bags’ a collaborative endeavour by the Rocky Bay Studio textile group.  

Crafted entirely from upcycled fabric generously donated by Mosman Park locals, this collection of handcrafted bags is a celebration inspired by the annual arrival of spring ducks in the Mosman Park pond. 

The artistic journey begins with stencilling of patterns onto the fabric, setting the stage for a distinctive and playful folkie style. The addition of hand-beaded wings adds a touch of whimsy, creating a delightful fusion of craftsmanship and nature. As the Rocky Bay Studio eagerly anticipates the annual spectacle of ducklings in their garden, these unique bags stand testament to our community spirit.
