’Colours of the Rainbow’
(Acrylic and posca on canvas, 1115mm x 1115mm)
This piece focused on different hues of blue to create an ocean like abstract. As Maeve paints, she likes to articulate which shape she will be drawing such as circle, square, triangle or love heart. Maeve is renowned for her large scale, colourful abstracts pieces. Her works are bold, bright and honest, with shapes and objects floating in a sea of colour.
Maeve’s artworks are often repetitive and arbitrary, which is how Maeve likes to manoeuvre her work. She enjoys the sensory tactile stimulation that painting offers and loves exploring this with her hands on the canvas.
